Coxons Corner

WARNING – THIS PIECE CONTAINS MAJOR WHINGING!!!!!

Just when I thought I’d cracked the results game up pops ref Peter Walton with a performance that if he had been a player would surely have resulted in him being dropped – more of that later. Let’s go back to the start of the season and Wolves away, a game that I had two VIP tickets for but at the last minute had to work. There then followed my annual trip to Norway which meant that I missed Spurs and Chelsea so we had no points when I left and none when I got back.

Happy New Year Stokies!

I don’t think that I can remember a Premier League season quite like this one and I’m loving every minute of it. Don’t get me wrong I could do without defeats at home to Blackpool and Fulham but that’s how the season has gone. There doesn’t go a week by without you are left speechless by a result or results as was the case in midweek. Just look at Wolves. They can’t buy a win and they beat Chelsea. Mind you what’s gone on at Chelsea, they elbow Ray Wilkins and the ‘ wheels come off’. What odds would you have got that the two poorest sides in the form league would be the English champions and the side that reached the Europa League Final last season and then there’s Liverpool, what a laughing stock they are! This should have been the season that they made it back into the top four. Right now they will do well to stay out of the bottom three. Talking of bottom three what’s going on at Villa?

Can I start by wishing you all a Merry Christmas Stokies. Just lately the weather over here has been atrocious. It was so bad when I was down the ground the other day I bumped into a polar bear. Mind you compared to Norway it was like a spring day with a chill in the air. As a result of the white stuff last week’s games were decimated with only two Premier games taking place. It used to be a case of if you’ve got under soil heating, with the aid of a few helpers’, the game went ahead but not anymore because it’s a health and safety issue. With this in mind the authorities will always air on the side of caution and so the game will be called off because the surrounding roads are a bit dodgy.
